and my new husband this week. I have prayed for this trip since I was
engaged this past summer and to have a place to introduce Honduras to
my family was a gift to me. I prayed for a good impression of this country
and people so their minds would have peace as I enter different countries
like a missionary in the near future. I also prayed to spend time with
my family because we had not done this since many years ago when my father
passed away. All of these things above were answered prayers and blessings
in my life. I am here now with my new husband and this is our luna de
miel (honeymoon). this is a new step in our lives and soon the busyness
of the ministry will come in and we will be surrounded by missionaries
and a lot of work. Thank you for a peaceful time before this occurs. Well

it is cosy and romantic. If it is 4 days raining the taxis run out of
gasoline and you have a few energy drop outs: you can get at least a 1$

The style and atmosphere of our hosts and accomodations show smaller is
better. Despite the tropical storm for three days our 2nd trip to Roatan
was a blessed relief from work and phone. Last day reminds me to return.

Rain patters and birds call as we arrive so now we depart. The sounds
of the wet season ah! In between we had idyllic days of sun, snorkeling,
wonderful meals, mornings, afternoons, evenings on villa 2 terrace. Listening,
always listening to the seas heart call, the soft breeze, to the sirens
song of paradise. The daily cacaphony of birds and voices and.....the
shrill wail of children? Hammers thrump and crack, buzz-saw drones? Yes
there is that too! Commerce call in ways not entirely pleasant. Obviously,
Lainie and Pascal you have a rich and artistic piece of the paradise pie.
Will encroaching interests overrun something so sublime? We hope not.
For we will return. Hopefully to the exquisite design of villa #2 the
softness of lower altitude days and nights, the Honduran sea and sky.
This was a wonderful week for us. Sincerely, the texas "tourist -
terrorist" (as Lainie calls us all). p.s. the afternoons sessions
with Stass were a joy.

To Lainie and Pascal, Thank you so much for creating exactly
what I needed - one of the most beautiful and conscientiously constructed
places on earth. Sitting on the porch of Vila #1 the first day I could
hardly believe it. Roatan is a special place and you truly made an environment
to capture the best aspects.
To others who may read:
Come now before an era has passed and it is all Caribbean condos. To those
conscious of noise, there is some whether it be the construction next
door, Henry Morgan on a Tuesday night, or the play of small children.
And, yes you will definitely have at least some bug bites. But the overall
beauty and peace makes up for any minor annoyances. A few extra tips:
-La Rocas is an enjoyable relaxed place to learn to dive, and good food
and happy hour!
- Bite on the Beach is the beast place by far to eat in West Bay - plan
to go to West End Argentinean grill and Light house restaurant when they
are closed on Sunday and Monday. I am happy to answer any West Bay specific

Sand = white as I have never see it before
Water = Clear and transparent I was always looking at my hands and feets
while swimming.
The house = Really cute, I like the decoration, the art and the flowers
on the kitchen. Great job, really! I enjoyed Roatan so much that we are
reconsidering coming back again.
The things I did not like were the mosquitos, the bees, the sandflies,
For the rest everything was just wonderful. Thanks to the gardener for
the coconuts. We also like the diving spots and snorkeling. Even though
I am afraid of open water, my husband was diving and told me everyday
what he saw. I was amazed by all the animals, fishes, corals and more.
Many thanks for your hospitality and I hope for sure to come back again.

What a beautiful place to stay! We loved the solitude, the sound of the
waves, the sunsets, the lovely villas - a place where we could truly "get
away" and relax. We got to explore the island this time with a car,
and it was always nice to return to our "home away from home"

- a surprise each time you went into another room. And the COOL bathrooms!

called for. When we first arrived we were excited and blown away by the
beauty of the island. Island Pearl is a wonderful place to stay. The people
are nice, the houses are fun and the view is breathtaking. Three days

Well, the past 13 nights have been truly wonderful. West Bay Beach was
an awesome place to hang out during the day after my many dives. The sound
of the waves is therapeutic for those coming for a vacation to decompress
from their "other" lives. Laura and I have really gained a strong
appreciation for Roatan during our stay. Sandrine & Montana were extremely
helpful and made our stay very comfortable (Thanks for giving me some
computer time to check e-mails!)
Island Pearl is definitely a unique and beautiful place to stay on this
pretty little island.
We will be back some day, hopefully soon.

Our first trip to Roatan has been a great success. We have enjoyed the
comfortable beachfront villa, especially sitting on the front porch in
the shade under the fan, reading books and sipping cold drinks. Lots of
pleasant memories: the groundskeeper picking a coconut and cutting the
top off with his machete, the numerous variety of sea life we've seen
while snorkeling up and down West Bay beach, the all day taxi rides and
adventures provided by Alex Garcia whom we found through your website,
seeing the moray at Bite on the Beach, and on and on. We will definitely
be back here.

We had a fabulous time here at Island Pearl! We spent our second week
on the island here and we loved being right on the beach. We especially
enjoyed deep sea fishing with Gary and the West Bay zip line course! Monkeys
came right down from the trees and jumped on our shoulders! The restaurant
were great here, especially Rick's American Café and the Argentinean
restaurant in West End.
We also just loved walking along the beach enjoying the stars at night.

2 days + 3 nights wasn’t enough! Especially
when you feel under the weather for one of those days. The rest of us
had lots of fun, one time snorkeling. It was described as euphoric. After
a long bus ride from Tegucigalpa we found our front cabin perfectly relaxing
and quiet!
It has taken me 55 years to do it but I finally found this
little stretch of paradise. Why, in God’s name, did I wait so long
? Now that I found it you can bet that I won’t wait another 55 years.
“I’LL BE BACK!”

to children. From arranging Lilian and Orbelina to baby-sit (they are

and the porch overlooking the beach. Everyone from the groundskeeper to

The Island Pearl is such a delightful surprise. Lainie &
Pascal have created casitas that are work of art. So much thought and
effort have gone into these casitas that eve after a week I continue to
find things to admire. Our casita is built to be delightfully cool, and
the fans helped us keep comfortable. The native stone is beautiful. The
bathrooms are the most appealing ones I’ve ever seen. Imagine a tropical
mural in the shower! What luxury. These houses are the embodiment of the
idea of buildings that delight the senses and work well.

was our second visit here to the Islas. We stumbled upon these beautiful
villas the first time we came in 2004. We had no prior reservation. Lainie
made sure we had all the necessities since we always travel with our children
(toys, baby bath, playpen, etc). We planned our second trip and we knew
we would be returning to Island Pearl because of the tranquility and wonderful
hospitality.
We also love the beautiful decorated villas. This time our stay interrupted
by sick children! Again we were helped with medicine, thermometers, advice
on where to seek medical attention and much more. Thank you. Muchas gracias.

done for us. It is very exciting for us to be on the island. We had a

place to stay, the best stretch of beach, and on and on. We chose it from
your website but as always seeing the real thing is better than the picture.
Your attention to detail in building and landscaping make Island Pearl
extremely special. Each room is its own world and each an oasis. We are
so sorry to be leaving -but we shall return!
(Hopefully the bamboo will grow tall and thick and lush between you and
your new neighbors) as I look around before departure everything I lay
my eyes on is so pleasurable. I will be telling friends about Island Pearl

Loved the fabulous beach! We enjoyed our stay at island pearl
-comfortable and a bit of an oasis sandwiched between noisier venues.
The only complaints to have are that we were expecting a more peaceful
place. The large Italian resort ruined several evenings for us due to
LOUD disco music late in the evening. And I worry that this island natural
draw -the reefs & rain forest- are being ruined by mindless developments
& overuse. Local government would do well to learn about "smart"
growth -a balance of environmental issues with economic development.

is perfectly situation between the craziness of the cruise folks and the

and very well groomed. We found such privacy surprising and fabulous.

My family traveled south from Texas and north from Ecuador for a post
- Christmas gathering on middle ground at the Island pearl. Paradise was
never lost as we clearly found a piece of it nestled here in the coconut
trees and white sand. Villa 1 is a good as it gets. The paintings, the
masks and the tile work all give the place a funky, personal feel which
separate it from the cookie-cutter sterility of larger resorts. The porch?
Well, the porch is THE porch of all porches, an unrivaled place to strum
guitars or lounge in the hammock with a clear view to the hues of the
blue found only on the cosmic palette. Thanks for the hospitality and
the dedication to the conservation ethic...fight the good fight...7 days
passed to quickly but left us tanned, well fed and happy.

peaceful villa 3 with its beautiful paintings, spacious rooms, rock-lines
terraces and outdoor "living room made us fell like we had a home
on the beach in Roatan. We felt secluded from the occasional hustle and

The diving was also unsurpassed and only a quick boat ride from your shore.
We definitely feel like we made the right choice staying at the Island
Pearl.

First entry of the new year. We stayed 9 glorious days in Roatan at Island
Pearl. We stayed in cottage #1, at beach side The front porch provides
a wonderful view of the Caribbean sea, and more than any other. We arrived
on Boxing Day and the weather was initially gray After a few days the
weather broke and we enjoyed super days of beach combing, swimming, snorkeling
and a variety of other activities on the island. For a knowledgeable guide
around the Roatan, we highly recommend Omar. Lainie and Pascal were very
good hosts and the grounds are fantastic. Just a great spot for our family
of 5 to enjoy the winter break. Thanks again and we look forward to a
return visit!
