We've loved our honeymoon adventure in Honduras and hope to return one day.

We debated for months before deciding on the Island Pearl and we truly made the best possible decision. The villa was so clean, comfortable and charming. The staff was so helpful and accommodating and the grounds were so well kept. The beach was gorgeous with calm turquoise water and a great snorkelling reef nearby. The scuba diving was amazing!!! We walked all along the beach and saw nothing else like the Island - it is so small and private. All the others were larger resorts with a totally different feel. Perfect location on the beach for our family with the nice shade from swaying palms in the sunny afternoon. It's nice to have the option of both! The villa is adorable and I will especially miss the porch and the shower. The kids had a great holiday making friends and playing in the water and I am most grateful they could do so safely and be seen from anywhere (beach and porch). This will be a trip of their lifetime - Island Pearl is the best accommodation on WBB that I've noticed and was glad of the choice we made. Hi Lainie, we loved your home - it is so beautiful and spacious and cool and the lovely murals and kitchen were just great. Philip and I loved to hang out in the oversized chairs on the front porch at night. We thought it would be great for 2 couples, although we needed the time for ourselves this time. We wished we had the ability to extend, but alas, we have to make a few bucks to make trips like that possible. I was thinking that I might bring my mom and sisters for a week or so next year.

We were really surprised at how much construction has occurred and is occurring on the beach - all along the road too, but West Bay Beach was amazing. It has only been 2 years since we were there and there wasn't even a hint of most of the new buildings. We were surprised the place next door was so big, it isn't really noticeable though. The new restaurants and the deli and "Mall" were a plus. The electricity was out several times - a hint of things to come if they don't figure out the growth issues fast.

Lila is really good at the hostess stuff, she really pays attention and helps people figure out stuff to do. And her husband and family are really nice. Being able to speak French as well as Spanish and English is a real plus too.

I echo Mauri's thoughts. Yours is a special and wonderful place and were it mine I'd only rent it out (if at all) to those who can truly appreciate it. The website doesn't do it justice. I didn't have a sense how very large a place it is, or how airy and quiet and well appointed, until we were there. Pasqual's special touches are everywhere evident. All to our benefit, of course. All the space enabled us to fully relax and forget about the regular stresses in our life. Lila and Eric were great hosts and we lacked nothing. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Birds here are loud and are the best clock we could have had for sunrise. Lizards in trees graceful bats; and the ring of hammers and the song of saws as the change in the conversation of the day. Was that the wind??? No the sound of the surf. The light filtering through the trees dancing as the sun passes to the sea leaving the diamonds for all on the waters…forever waiting our return.

Yes, we did have a lovely time at the Island Pearl. Being in West Bay, yet somehow apart from the frenzy, was really great. My favourite night was the one the power was out and the full moon floated in the sky - everyone down on the beach in the moonlight sharing smokes, drinks and stories. Lila, Eric, Cheyenne Lakota : Thank you for a beautiful stay. Your location is stunning: the soft pale sand, crystal shimmering waters, and your meticulously shaded garden oasis of property. It is the most relaxing, unique and advantageous place to stay in Roatan. It was wonderful to be on vacation in a home-away-from home. It was kismet that you had space for us on short notice; due to the cancellation. I am so glad we chose to stay at the Island Pearl. Your family was so welcoming and interesting to talk with. Anyone will love Eric's punches on the shore to freshen them up with fruits and drinks. We enjoyed the grand porches and the comfortable hammocks as well; having maid service during the stay is a great bonus. Thank you also for your help in getting around the island and your recommendations on places to eat and go; as well, Cheyenne is a wonder of a child - I am sure you are proud. We sincerely hope that this magnificent place stays as is in the coming years and not another grand sized-impersonal hotel.
